A couple of weekends ago my oldest daughter took me to New York City for a short vacation. Isn't she just the greatest! We had an absolutely wonderful time. I couldn't have asked for a more fun vacation. When I am asked what all did we do and see, I think it would be easier to answer what we did not do and see. Here are just a few pictures of our trip. We took tons of pictures and couldn't possibly post them all here.
Central Park

New York subway

My sister, Karen, and I thought we would be brave and make some cake pops for Easter lunch. We started out pretty good, even had multiple colors of candy melts and other things to decorate with. I wanted to make the little yellow chicks I had seen on Bakerella's blog. She makes all of the cake pops look so easy. Time consuming but easy. NOT! I gave up on the little chicks and we strictly made "Easter Eggs." Or at least that is what they are supposed to be. It took us over 5 HOURS to make these. We probably made 150 or more. It will be a long, long time before I try this again and this wasn't my first time to make them. We couldn't get the candy melts to melt right and ended up having to go get some candy wax to thin. That helped a lot but...whew! Just glad that is over.

Papa had to give Noah a taste of the melted candy melts. OOOoooo he really liked that. Noah has the same sweet tooth as his mother.

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday. Hope everyone else did too. It's so wonderful to be with family especially on holidays and to know that we are all together because of our wonderful Savior who died and rose again just for me and you and you etc. He would have done it if was only one but he died and rose again for us all. Praise you Jesus!
Here are some pictures of us with our little Noah. You'd think he was the only baby in the world but right now he is to us. Isn't he just the cutest with his little hat and tie. First with Nana and Papa.
With Aunt JJ

With Uncle Josh
Lastly with mom and dad. Aunt Ninny couldn't make it but sends her love and a big kiss.

I have been following several blogs that have really touched me. Both have buttons on here that will take you directly to their blog. One is Stephanie Nielsen who was in an airplane crash last August. Both she and her husband survived but with terrible burn injuries especially her. She is such a courageous young woman and is so inspiring. If you are ever feeling down or alone and need a lift, just read her blog and how she is dealing with this tragedy and how she looks to our wonderful God for strength. I want to reach out to her and hold her in my arms like a mother would her child and tell her it's going to be OK. I know I can't but God can and does.
Another blog is about Stellan, a 5 month old that is struggling with heart problems. I have a 5 month old grandchild and simply can't imagine what this mother is going through. She is also a courageous young woman who puts her trust in our wonderful God. She never knows from day to day what will be going on with her little one. She posts her frustrations but also posts her love and trust in God. I pray for these two women everyday and even though I don't know them, I know Jesus does and he hears all of the prayers going up for these families every day. If you have a minute, take a look at both of these blogs and say a pray for them. I know they would appreciate it. God is and God is good, in everything.

New Noah pictures. Isn't he just the greatest. He is just a little over 5 months old and just starting to scoot which is a precurser to crawling. I can't believe how much he has changed in just a few months. We are extremely blessed by God. As you can see to the right I have a link to Stellan's mom's blog. Please pray for him. Stellan is just a few days younger than Noah and is extremely ill. I can't imagine what this little guy is going through and his parents and grandparents. How tough that would be. God is good though and will see them through this. He is there with us every step of the way if we allow him to be. My favorite poem is "Footprints". This tells the story of how in the sand we see two sets of footprints for a while and then only one set. First Jesus is walking beside us and then through the rough times he is carrying us thus the one set of prints. We don't have to go through anything alone. Isn't that just the greatest comfort!
